Atlantic Coast Electric Supply Invests in NEC and Grounding Training Sessions
Atlantic Coast Electric Supply (ACES) welcomed over 20 local electrical contractors in the Gastonia, NC, market on April 29, for a day of education and networking at the Hilton Garden Inn. Led by expert instructor Don Hursey, the event offered a two-part course covering critical updates to the North Carolina Adoption of the 2023 NEC Code and a deep dive into the key terms and concepts from Article 250: Grounding & Bonding, with attendees earning four Continuing Education Units (CEUs) per course.
Following the sessions, Hursey stayed for an extended Q&A, engaging with about a dozen contractors for an additional 40 minutes — a clear reflection of the content’s relevance and the strong interest it sparked. During the break between sessions, attendees enjoyed lunch while exploring product demos from Marc Emerson and Meagan Brown of United Electrical Sales, who showcased Harger Exothermic Welding solutions.
Following the CEU training, ACES Gastonia hosted a hands-on Harger Certification Training on May 13, giving contractors the opportunity to deepen their understanding of exothermic welding. This practical session introduced attendees to Harger’s Ultraweld exothermic welding system — a popular method for making permanent electrical connections. The follow-up training emphasized the importance of proper technique and safety in achieving high-quality, reliable results. 14 employees from four different contracting companies, two of which attended the Hursey seminar, completed the certification, reinforcing their commitment to safety and professional development.
These back-to-back training events are part of ACES’ ongoing commitment to providing valuable educational opportunities and support for its contractor community. For more information on ACES educational events, visit ACESGoingPlaces.com.
